Cannabis and Children

As cannabis was legalized for adults in Canada in 2018, The Pediatricians Alliance of Ontario (PAO) maintains the dangers of its use in adolescents and young adults.

Then PAO Vice President, Dr. Sharon Burey, was interviewed for this National Post article published on October 17th, 2018, the day on which recreational marijuana use became legal in Canada. She notes that marijuana-use in adolescents affects the developing brain and mental health, and could potentially place a strain on overtaxed mental health resources.
